Where we come from and where we are headed
Once upon a time, in 1989, a young man from East Friesland settled down in Hamburg. He had his degree in business administration in his pocket, and he had an idea for a business!
He took a look around, found the right location at Poststrasse 33 and rolled up his sleeves. With his good taste in selecting elegant office furnishings and his heart in the right place, he won over many loyal customers and built up his business: the HAMBURG BUSINESS CENTER in the Hanse-Viertel.
We are talking about Bernd Schlieper, the founder of (to use the acronym) HBC.
In 2015, he handed the HBC over to the Ruttkamp family and now he enjoys the sun "at the most beautiful end of the world" in Cape Town. But since (as people say) a rolling stone gathers no moss, he is still active. Once a host, always a host! A bed & breakfast at the foot of Table Mountain and a guest house in Pringle Bay … Bernd doesn't have time to get bored!!
Nor has it become boring in Hamburg! In the HBC, which has expanded over the years from 1 to 3 floors with a total of 46 office units and 4 conference rooms, business is thriving. But the HBC team, while it does not sit still, never loses its cool. Just as Stephanie and Jochen Ruttkamp, who both have a background in the hotel business, expect. The born hosts with a good sense of how to make people feel good!
The team, whose members all have backgrounds in the hotel and restaurant businesses, also enjoy being "constantly on the go". Flexibility and friendliness are second nature to them. A good portion of professional experience, humour and of course "multi-tasking" - dat löpt (that get's it done)!
